CIA Agent-Turned-Critic Philip Agee Dies

Jan 9th, 2008 · Philip Agee, a former agent of the CIA who became one of the agency's harshest critics, died this week in Havana, Cuba. His 1975 book, Inside the Company: CIA Diary, revealed covert operations and the names of covert agents. He later became editor of the magazine Counterspy, which the CIA blamed for exposing more agents. In the late 1990s, he founded a travel agency in Cuba, offering cheap excursion packages to "the safest country in the world."
