Sep 19th, 2008 · Nebraska "safe haven" law permits caretakers to drop children off without fear of prosecution. The maximum age under safe haven laws in other states is one, but Nebraska didn't set an age limit. This Saturday, an 11-year-old and a 15-year-old were left off by relatives.
Aug 18th, 2008 · Last month, the state of Nebraska enacted a safe haven law. Typically these laws apply to newborn infants; parents can leave their babies at a designated safe place without fear of prosecution for child abandonment. But the Nebraska law actually applies to any child up to 19.
