Jul 1st, 2009 · An FDA advisory panel yesterday warned about the risk of acetaminophen, a painkiller in Tylenol, Nyquil and other drugs. The panel also called for a ban on Vicodin and Percocet, two drugs that combine acetaminophen with narcotics.

FDA Panel Advises Smaller Doses Of Painkillers

But a study in this week's Journal of the American Medical Association shows that ordinary doses of acetaminophen can cause liver damage. Experts see the new results as a warning, but not as a reason to stop taking acetaminophen.
