Jun 16th, 2007 · A 50-ton bowhead whale that was recently killed off the coast of Alaska was found to have embedded in it's blubber a lance fragment from the 19th Century. It is certainly headed for the record books. Researchers announced this week that hunters had found a 3.5-inch projectile embedded deep in the whale's blubber, which had probably been fired from a shoulder gun in the late 1800's.
Nov 12th, 2005 · Television reporter Paul Linnman in Portland, Ore., was on the scene 35 years ago when authorities attempted to blow up a dead whale on the beach with dynamite, creating a blubber shower.
