Dec 16th, 2008 · The United States has repatriated three Guantanamo prisoners to Bosnia. They are three of the five detainees that a federal judge had ordered the government to release. He said the government had only an unreliable tip that the men were planning to engage in terrorism with al-Qaida and he urged the Justice Department not to appeal his ruling.

Jul 24th, 2008 · Radovan Karadzic's arrest on war crimes charges was met with a burst of celebration in the streets of Sarajevo, which suffered a brutal siege during the Bosnia war in the 1990s at the hands of Bosnia Serb militias loyal to Karadzic. But many citizens of Sarajevo are bitter that he was able to live on the lam for 13 years before he was detained.

A large part of the prosecution's case is based on sometimes ambiguous wire-tapped phone calls.
