Al-Qaida Agent Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison

Oct 29th, 2009 · U.S. District Judge Michael Mihm could have sentenced Ali al-Marri to as many as 15 years. But Mihm handed down the lighter sentence in consideration of what he called "very severe" conditions under which Marri was kept during the almost six years he was held without charges in a U.S. Navy brig in South Carolina.

Marine General Takes Fight To The Taliban

Enemy Combatant To Move To Civilian Court

Feb 27th, 2009 · An accused al-Qaida sleeper agent, who has been held for more than five years at a Navy brig in South Carolina, is expected to be sent to Illinois for trial in civilian court. The Justice Department has not yet announced charges against Ali al-Marri. The Bush administration had fought that move for years saying terror suspects caught in the U.S. could be held indefinitely without charges.

Ex-Navy Lawyer Explains Guantanamo Leak *

Beirut Car Bomb Kills Top Lebanese General ****

Dec 12th, 2007 · A top Lebanese general is killled by a car bomb in Beirut on Wednesday. Two other people were also killed in the attack on Brig. Gen. Francois Hajj, a top Maronite Catholic in the command, military officials and media reports said.
