Slate's Middlebrow: 'NYPD Blue' Bids Over and Out

Mar 1st, 2005 · After a 12-season run, the last episode of ABC's dramatic series NYPD Blue airs Tuesday. Slate contributor Bryan Curtis says that the show broke ground in terms of sexual content on network TV, but eventually lost out to cable shows that could be even more explicit.
