The Blacks: 'Raincoat'

Chicago to Overhaul Troubled Police Department *

Nov 1st, 2007 · The city of Chicago continues its search for someone to run its troubled police department. Whoever gets the job will take control of the department after one of its most scandalous years in recent memory. In the past 12 months, Chicago police officers have been involved in several videotaped beatings, alleged burglary rings -- even an alleged murder-for-hire plot -- to say nothing of past problems with the department that have bubbled to the surface. Ben Calhoun reports from Chicago Public Radio.

Shifted Ice Cap Unexpectedly Reveals Life

Jul 19th, 2005 · Three years ago, a huge section of an Antarctic ice sheet broke off and floated away. Now scientists have had a chance to look at what was under the shelf and have discovered huge mats of bacteria and clams. It's a cold seep, a rare phenomenon where methane bubbles up from under the seabed, and the first found in the Antarctic.
