May 22nd, 2008 · Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer got a rude reception while giving a speech in Budapest, Hungary. A young man stood up, began yelling at Ballmer, then began pelting the executive with eggs. Apparently the man was angry about what he believed to be Microsoft's role in limiting independent software development in Hungary.

Jun 22nd, 2006 · In Budapest, Hungary, President Bush compares Hungary's struggles under Communist rule to Iraq's recent history. "The desire for liberty is universal," the president said. President Bush has visited several Eastern European capitals to highlight countries that have recently become democracies.

Oct 29th, 2004 · Hungary bans the sale of paprika after health officials find that products distributed by three of the country's leading paprika companies contained illegal amounts of the mold aflatoxin. Paprika is integral to traditional Hungarian cuisine, and difficult to substitute. NPR's Melissa Block talks with Kalman Kozma, director of Budapest's famous Gundel restaurant.
