Why Congress' Reception Different For Automakers

David Leonhardt, who writes about economics for The New York Times, tells Renee Montagne that one reason is banks can collapse overnight, while that's not true of the car industry.

Could Lobbying Be Next for Trent Lott?

Nov 27th, 2007 · Former GOP Majority Leader Trent Lott announced today that he will resign his post in the Senate before the end of the year. Lott currently holds the second-ranking GOP leadership post as the minority whip. Some in his office have speculated that he's ending his post early because of new lobbying regulations -- Lott wants to get in under the buzzer to begin lobbying in 2009, some say.
