Jul 4th, 2007 · Gaza-based BBC reporter Alan Johnston has been freed after nearly four months in captivity. He was held by the Army of Islam, a small radical Islamic group in the Palestinian city. At a press conference in Jerusalem, Johnston described his captors as "unpredictable and dangerous," and his ordeal as terrifying.
Jun 1st, 2007 · The kidnappers of Alan Johnston, a BBC correspondent in Gaza, have released a video of Johnston, the first sign that he might be still alive since he was captured. Johnston was abducted 11 weeks ago, apparently by Islamist militants linked to al-Qaida. The video was undated; at the time it was recorded Johnston, said he was in good health and was being well treated by his captors. Rob Gifford reports from London.
Aug 27th, 2006 · Two journalists captured by militants in the Gaza Strip were freed by their captors Sunday. Correspondent Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig were dropped off at Gaza City's Beach Hotel by Palestinian security officials.
