Cassini to Capture Clues from Saturn's Icy Moon

Mar 12th, 2008 · The Cassini spacecraft is on track Wednesday to skim past Saturn's moon, Enceladus, right through the plume of an "ice geyser" that is throwing material out into space and may be fed by an underground ocean. Scientists say Enceladus is the sort of place that theoretically could support some form of life.

Saturn, Making Noise and Pleasing Researchers *

Jul 30th, 2005 · The Cassini probe returns a wealth of sound from Saturn. Astrophysicist Donald Gurnett tells Christopher Joyce that it's especially helpful to hear Saturn, because the gas giant's cloudy atmosphere shields its surface from telescopes.
