Actor Roy Scheider Dies

Feb 11th, 2008 · Actor Roy Scheider has died. Best known for facing down a man-eating shark in Jaws, Scheider had in recent years struggled with blood cancer; he died from related complications. While Jaws catapulted Scheider to stardom in the summer of 1975, it was The French Connection, released four years earlier, that gave him his big break.

Floyd Landis Takes Crown in Tour de France

But in a classic comeback story, the 30-year-old's performance Thursday catapulted him back into the fray. Andrew Hood, a reporter for Velo News, was on the Champs Elysee when Landis sailed across the finish line.
