Democrats secretly voted 42 to 13 to let him remain chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. His only sanction was being removed from the Environment Committee. Auto CEOs To Plead Case To House Committee

Michigan Alcohol Ballot Issue Could Be Confusing

Oct 27th, 2008 · Supporters of a ballot measure in Michigan may be hoping their supporters show up sober enough to vote properly. Ottawa County has a ban on beer and wine sales on Sundays. Voters are being asked to allow sales, by the Say Yes to Sunday Committee. The trouble is, people are being formally asked if they want to continue the ban. So you vote no, if you want to say yes to Sunday. Officials say the convoluted language is required by the state liquor code.

Greenspan Admits Free Market Ideology Flawed ****

Oct 24th, 2008 · Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan told a House committee Thursday that the banking and housing crisis is a "once-in-a-century credit tsunami." When asked if his ideology pushed him to make bad decisions, Greenspan said he found a "flaw" in his governing ideology that has led him to reexamine his thinking.
