Obama's two previous choices for the Cabinet post withdrew their names — New Mexico's Democratic Gov. Bill Richardson and Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire.

Dec 17th, 2008 · President-elect Barack Obama has nominated another former political rival to a Cabinet post. Former Democratic Gov. Tom Vilsack of Iowa was selected to head the Agriculture department. Vilsack abandoned his own White House bid early and supported Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Dec 11th, 2008 · Illinois Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn says if Illinois legislators do not begin impeachment hearings soon, he supports having the state attorney general going to the Supreme Court to remove Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office. Quinn talks about the reasons for his position.
