'Aliens in America' Pits Stereotypes, Humor

Oct 6th, 2007 · The new sitcom Aliens in America premiered on the CW Network this week. It's a teen angst comedy with a politically charged twist. The Tolchuck family from Wisconsin gets an exchange student, who turns out to be a devout Muslim from Pakistan. The show plays post-Sept. 11 tensions between America and the Muslim world for laughs, tackling issues from terrorism to civil rights in a lighthearted high school setting. And the show is getting attention beyond its teen demographic.
