Aug 28th, 2008 · Iraq's tourism board aims to promote Baghdad as a fun place to be. There are already plans for a six-star hotel on the Tigris River, golf courses — and now a Ferris wheel. It's inviting proposals for the "Baghdad Eye," which it wants to be taller than the largest Ferris wheel in Europe, the London Eye.

Apr 30th, 2008 · The U.S. Border Patrol has started doing spot checks on ferries coming from Washington state's San Juan Islands. These are domestic ferry routes, completely inside the borders of Washington state. The new scrutiny has some islanders upset, saying it's a violation of their privacy to have to identify themselves when traveling inside the United States.

Nov 9th, 2005 · Witnesses report scenes of chaos and bodies being ferried out of three Jordanian hotels struck by powerful explosions Wednesday night. The hotels, located in Amman, the capital, are often used by foreign travelers. Scores have reportedly died in the blasts, with more than 100 wounded.
