Feb 8th, 2010 · I know that at least a few of you watched Super Bowl XLIV. I know that, because 106 million people watched yesterday's game, which makes it the most-watched telecast ever. Perhaps you tuned in to see if New Orleans might finally get its due — not just as a team, but as a city. Or maybe you wanted to see those crazy (pro-life, sexist, unadventurous and/or boring) advertisements for which companies paid a gazillion dollars. Lastly, a scant amount of you might have tuned in because The Who was playing the halftime show.

This year it was 17 degrees below zero and one teen is being treated for frostbite. A new Web site offers a less dramatic option: Cheddarvision, run by an English cheesemaker, provides a Webcam shot of mold growing on maturing cheddar cheese.

Nov 3rd, 2006 · Among the members of this year's University of Louisville marching band is a musician who is blind and doesn't walk. At last night's game against visiting conference rival West Virginia, Patrick Henry Hughes was in the trumpet section, in a wheelchair pushed by his father. The blonde young man, holding his silver trumpet in a white uniform, was spun around the field by his father, who wore a red Louisville jacket. The two attend all practices and halftime performances, even through the most intricate formations.
