Aug 25th, 2008 · A two-man punctuation patrol went a little too far. Jeff Deck and Benjamin Herson have been traveling the country correcting punctuation on signs. But they'll be paying a hefty fine after altering a historic hand-painted sign at the Grand Canyon — something federal authorities call vandalism. The pair did leave one misspelling on the old Grand Canyon sign: "emense".

A city law set to take effect this fall requires tour guides to pass a written licensing test or face hefty fines. Similar laws are already on the books in Washington, New Orleans and Charleston, S.C. But tour guides in Philadelphia are challenging the law in court, saying it violates the First Amendment.
