Aug 29th, 2008 · A civilian jury in Riverside, Calif., has acquitted a former Marine on charges of voluntary manslaughter. Jose Nazario Jr. was accused of killing unarmed Iraqi detainees in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004.
Aug 22nd, 2008 · Former Marine Sgt. Jose Luis Nazario began standing trial for manslaughter in Riverside County, Calif. It's the first time that a former service member has stood trial in a civilian court for crimes said to have occurred during the war in Iraq.

May 22nd, 2007 · A senior district attorney in Santa Barbara County, Calif., used a woman's MySpace.com postings to get a prison sentence in a manslaughter case. The 22-year-old woman was driving drunk when she had an accident in which her passenger was killed.

Nov 21st, 2006 · Three years ago, 89-year-old George Weller drove his car through the Santa Monica Farmers Market, killing 10 people and injuring more than 60. Weller's attorneys argued that it was an accident. But the jury still convicted him on 10 counts of manslaughter.
Jul 28th, 2006 · Three years ago this month, an elderly man with health problems lost control of his car and tore a deadly path through the Santa Monica Farmers' Market. Ten people were killed, 60 others were injured. The 89-year-old driver finally is about to face trial on 10 felony counts of vehicular manslaughter.
