No Football Timeout For Congress

The reason: Stearns is hoping to go to college football's championship game. Number-two Florida plays number-one Oklahoma in Miami. Pelosi's office says there won't be a change in the schedule. Among the issues to be considered: certification of the Electoral College vote that gives Barack Obama the presidency.

Colourmusic: 'Put In A Little Gas'

Oct 9th, 2008 · F, Monday, Orange, February, Venus, Lunatic, 1 or 13, the improbably named, full-length debut from rock band Colourmusic, has a mouthful of a title, and it's not the only thing that's over-the-top about the Oklahoma group. Not only does the band dress in matching all-white outfits for live performances, but they've also gone so far as to grow matching bushy mustaches and beards. So it's not surprising that the personal quirks of the band spill over into the music.

Jimmy LaFave On Mountain Stage

Tornado Devastates Oklahoma Superfund Town ****

May 12th, 2008 · Pitcher, Okla., was once among the nation's largest Superfund sites. It was a town prone to cave-ins, from years of overzealous mining. The federal government was in the process of buying out the people who hadn't left yet. Over the weekend, Pitcher was destroyed by a tornado, and it's unlikely anyone will rebuild.
