Nov 18th, 2008 · Those massive wildfires in Southern California have filled the air with lots of smoke. It was so bad, public events were cancelled and school kids were kept off playgrounds. That smoke contains some hazardous chemicals.

Jun 9th, 2008 · Two-year-olds in New Zealand are getting down to business. Toddlers can now follow up after important playground meetings by exchanging business cards. The specially made cards have age-appropriate art such as diaper pins. The cards have become a bit of a fad — with moms acting as liaisons to the swing-set network.
Jun 1st, 2008 · Whirlpool Corporation wants to build a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and Resort next to Lake Michigan in impoverished Benton Harbor. Residents say it will destroy one of the last remaining undeveloped beaches and turn a park for poor residents into a playground for the rich.
Dec 5th, 2006 · In an effort to keep its young customers fit, McDonald's is experimenting with mini-gyms for children. The fast food company will introduce the gyms in several states across the country, replacing its popular playgrounds. Scott Horsley reports.

Things come to a head when a man sent to jail for exposing himself to children is released and moves into the community. The story is Todd Field's adaptation of the novel by Tom Perrotta, who co-wrote the screenplay.
