Aug 31st, 2006 · Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and California's Democrat-controlled legislature have a plan to curb the state's greenhouse-gas emissions. Supporters see the plan as a major breakthrough for climate change policy in the United States.
Jun 7th, 2006 · A close, contentious California primary race was finally decided early Wednesday morning. State Treasurer Phil Angelides won the Democratic nomination for governor, narrowly beating out Controller Steve Westly. Angelides will run against Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in the fall.
Mar 17th, 2006 · Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has highlighted the dismal state of the California levee system. He's declared a state of emergency and is asking for millions of dollars to repair the system. Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff will visit and inspect the levees on Friday as he weighs Schwarzenegger's request for more federal dollars. Tamara Keith of member station KPCC reports.
