Aug 3rd, 2009 · The maximum benefit under the newly unveiled law allows every eligible veteran, serviceman and woman, Reservist and National Guard member to attend a public college or university for free for four years. They are also eligible for a monthly housing stipend and up to $1,000 a year for books.

Jan 5th, 2009 · Israel's incursion into Gaza has continued for more than a week. Best-selling author Michael Oren is a senior fellow at the Shalem Center in Jerusalem. He's also a reservist working as a spokesman for the Israeli military. He tells Ari Shapiro that this large scale military operation should succeed in deterring Hamas rocket attacks while previous smaller operations failed.

For more than a year, the master sergeant waited for his Iraqi translator to receive a visa to come to the U.S. Now the men and their families have formed a bond on American soil. The Department of Veterans Affairs has been analyzing the suicide data since 2001 and found that Guard or Reserve members made up 53 percent of veteran suicides, according to a report Tuesday by the Associated Press. Why might the suicide rate among these troops be higher?

Nov 6th, 2007 · Staff Sgt. Lillian Clamens' husband and three children expected her home last month, just in time for Halloween. Instead, the family had to bury the 35-year-old Army reservist. She was killed in Baghdad when insurgents attacked her unit with rockets.
