Jul 11th, 2007 · Roz Savage has decided it's time for another ocean cruise. She's done the Atlantic, so this time it will be the Pacific. There will be plenty of exercise because she is rowing from San Francisco to Australia in a 24 foot boat. She'll leave Friday and hopes to make Australia in 2009.

Jul 3rd, 2007 · British rower Roz Savage plans to be the first woman to row solo across the Pacific Ocean. She plans to launch her journey in her fiberglass rowboat from San Francisco next week. In 2006, Savage became one of the few women to row alone across the Atlantic Ocean.

Jan 18th, 2006 · Two women competing in an international Atlantic Ocean rowing competition were recently rescued after their boat capsized in open waters. The women spent 16 hours clinging to their boat before being rescued by a tall ship. One of the women, Sarah Kessans, talks about her experience.

Aug 10th, 2004 · Aquil Abdullah is about to become the first African-American man to row in the Olympics. His first heat is Saturday, in the two-man scull. The 33-year-old is a graduate of the only public high school in Washington, D.C. with a rowing program. Hear Abdullah and NPR's Michele Norris.
