737 Bursts Into Flames, All Survive

Dec 21st, 2008 · Investigators are at Denver International Airport this morning, combing through the charred remains of a 737 that slid off a runway into a ravine last night and burst into flames. Denver fire department officials said the entire right side of the plane was destroyed by a fire so intense that melted plastic from the overhead compartments dripped onto the seats. Amazingly, every one of the 107 passengers and five crew members survived. Guest host Alison Stewart talks to Denver International Airport communications director Jeff Green about the accident.

Runaway Poodle Escapes Aiport Kennel *

Oct 28th, 2008 · There are many reasons planes can get stuck on airport runways. Add to them: a poodle on the run. That would be Choochy. She evaded authorities at Boston's Logan International Airport for 17 hours. Choochy escaped her kennel Saturday as it was being unloaded after a flight from Detroit. The dog ran in circles chased by several vans, and in turn delayed at least eight flights. Choochy was finally caught Sunday and reunited with her family.

Dozens Killed In Madrid Runway Accident **

Aug 20th, 2008 · Spanish officials gave differing death tolls Wednesday after a Spanair jet veered off the runway in Madrid and burst into flames. An emergency rescue official put the number dead at nearly 150; earlier, government officials had said 45 people were confirmed killed.
