Nov 28th, 2007 · The Reverse 911 communication system was given the lion's share of credit for successful and fatality free evacuations from San Diego County's wildfires a month ago. But the program may not have been as effective as previously thought.
Nov 22nd, 2007 · The Federal Emergency Management Agency gets generally good marks from residents of southern California in the aftermath of recent wildfires. Even before the flames were out in San Diego County, FEMA public information officers were everywhere -- handing out cards with the agency's 800 telephone number and encouraging victims to call.
Nov 2nd, 2007 · Efforts to better manage wildfires are underway in California even as ash is settling from the blaze that ravaged San Diego County. Hopes are for more water-dropping helicopters. The U.S. Marines have agreed to train with California firefighters.
