World's Largest Ice Santa Melting in China

Dec 26th, 2008 · Santa Claus is melting in one of China's coldest cities. Each year Harbin hosts a world-renowed ice festival. This year's features a huge ice sculpture of the jolly old elf, 80 feet high. But a warm spell threatens giant Santa — he's slick and dangerous. Chinese officials still hope Santa will attract thousands and lift spirits — one said "when people feel happier they will want to spend more."

Santa Clawed, May Need Rabies Shots

Dec 11th, 2008 · Santa Claus encountered some trouble in New Jersey. He was spending time at a PetsMart store, doing a photo shoot. And a pet owner asked him to pose with his very large cat, possibly a bobcat. What nobody anticipated was that the big cat would be terrified by some nearby dogs. Unless the owner produces a vaccination record, Santa Claus may have to get rabies shots after the cat bit and clawed him. Fortunately, Santa was wearing a thick, red suit at the time.

Holiday Spirit Lacking *

Dec 3rd, 2008 · A Maryland woman was safe in her bed, when out on the lawn there arose such a clatter that she sprang from her bed to see what was the matter. Somebody had stolen her 4-foot-tall Santa Claus and snowman. Police arrested a suspect who allegedly stole decorations from three homes. Meanwhile, a Florida man faces charges for allegedly throwing a Christmas tree at his father. In the spirit of the holidays, the Christmas tree missed.

Clause Allows Santa To Run In West Virginia **

Sep 26th, 2008 · The two major party presidential hopefuls now have a pretty famous guy to contend with. One of 14 write-in candidates for president in West Virginia is Santa Claus. Claus lives in Nevada and his name was O'Connor before he changed it. The state's rules allow almost anyone to register. No word on whether Claus will launch a straight talk sleigh from his home in Lake Tahoe — perhaps led by a reindeer called Hope?
