Michigan Alcohol Ballot Issue Could Be Confusing

Oct 27th, 2008 · Supporters of a ballot measure in Michigan may be hoping their supporters show up sober enough to vote properly. Ottawa County has a ban on beer and wine sales on Sundays. Voters are being asked to allow sales, by the Say Yes to Sunday Committee. The trouble is, people are being formally asked if they want to continue the ban. So you vote no, if you want to say yes to Sunday. Officials say the convoluted language is required by the state liquor code.
