The ranch is home to the polygamist sect called the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. May 29th, 2008 · The Texas Supreme Court has ruled that polygamist sect children at the heart of an ongoing controversy in that state should be returned to parents. The more than 400 children were taken from the Yearning For Zion Ranch weeks ago amid charges of underage sex at the ranch. A lower court says welfare officials were wrong to take the children from their parents.
May 19th, 2008 · The fate of more than 460 children will be argued in court in Monday. Texas Child Protective Services is required by law to present its plan for each child, but lawyers for the mothers of the children say that the plans do not consider each child individually.
