Jun 28th, 2005 · If you live in the Chicago area and you are interested in square-dancing, there are many clubs you might join. When commentator Angeli Primlani wants to go dancing, she hooks up with a club called the Chi-Town Squares. The members are mostly gay men, but recently, groups of older straight couples from the suburbs have started showing up at their dances.
Jun 16th, 2005 · Jack Coughlin, a gunnery sergeant in the Marines, is the author of the new book Shooter: The Autobiography of the Top-Ranked Marine Sniper. He grew up in a wealthy Boston suburb and joined the Marines at age 19, spending the next 20 years behind the scope of a long-range rifle as a sniper. He has more than 60 confirmed kills, 38 of which took place during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Apr 26th, 2005 · A group of friends in Methuen, Mass., discovered buried treasure in the yard while uprooting a bush. They found a chest filled with more than 1,800 antique dollar bills, as well as gold and silver bank certificates. Barry VillCliff tells Melissa Block about the find.

Feb 7th, 2005 · Many Detroit streets are lined with derelict, abandoned buildings -- vesitages of a once-thriving middle class that deserted the city for the suburbs over the past decades. The city has made some efforts to demolish decaying structures, and even build new housing, but progress is slow. NPR's Cheryl Corley reports.
Feb 4th, 2005 · His book Little Children has just come out in paperback. It's a satirical take on parenthood and suburbia. One reviewer writes of the book: "It represents a sterling comic contribution to the growing literature of the Bad Mommy and Bad Daddy."
