Wells Fargo, Not Citigroup, To Acquire Wachovia

Oct 3rd, 2008 · Wells Fargo announced Friday it has reached a deal to buy Wachovia worth about $15 billion. Wachovia ended talks with rival suitor Citigroup. Wells Fargo also said the merger will require no assistance from the government.
