Nov 21st, 2008 · The music of New York City-based producer and DJ Michna (also known as DJ Egg Foo Young) could be called trombone electronic dance pop. His debut album, Magic Monday, features smooth, down-tempo electronic beats, blended with plenty of urban flair, needle-drops, and Michna's own trombone work. Michna is a skilled trombonist and makes use of the instrument throughout Magic Monday.
Nov 12th, 2008 · Bassist Milt Hinton, known as the "Judge," was considered to be the ultimate timekeeper. With his buoyant tempos and fat, booming sound, Hinton provided the rhythmic foundation for many jazz greats.
Oct 24th, 2008 · On his third and latest album, iii, Canadian musician Michael Milosh serves up a collection of seductive, down-tempo electronica, inspired by his year living and recording on Thailand's tropical Koh Samui island. A classically trained cellist since the age of 3, Milosh writes on his MySpace page that he's "always had an intense attraction to songs that are sad, soft and beautiful" and that in his music, he attempts to "ride that thin line of mixing technology with some heart." On iii, he's succeeded in doing just that.
