Court Rules Children Were Illegally Seized

May 30th, 2008 · The Texas Supreme Court has ruled that Child Protective Services overstepped their bounds when it seized children from a ranch in Texas. The ranch is home to the polygamist sect called the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Court: Polygamist Sect Children Must Be Returned

May 29th, 2008 · Texas' Supreme Court has ruled that dozens of children seized by state officials during an April raid of a Texas ranch must be returned to their parents. It also says their removal "was not warranted."

Texas Court Agrees Children Must Be Returned

May 29th, 2008 · The Texas Supreme Court has ruled that polygamist sect children at the heart of an ongoing controversy in that state should be returned to parents. The more than 400 children were taken from the Yearning For Zion Ranch weeks ago amid charges of underage sex at the ranch. A lower court says welfare officials were wrong to take the children from their parents.
