Now, five bell-ringers in El Paso County, Colo., will be the first to accept credit and debit cards along with coins and bills. So if you just never seem to have any spare change on hand — consider that excuse a ghost of Christmas past.

Volunteers Distribute Spoof Of Gray Lady

Nov 13th, 2008 · People who complain the news is too negative got a break Wednesday. Volunteers across the country handed out more than a million copies of a paper that looked a lot like The New York Times. The front page proclaimed: Iraq War Ends! Articles said global warming was fixed and public universities would be free. The people behind the stunt include three New York Times staffers. They will remain anonymous so they don't get fired for spoofing the Gray Lady.

Smithsonian To Recreate Obama Field Office

Nov 13th, 2008 · America's newly elected president won't be sworn in for weeks, but already the Smithsonian Institution is gathering objects for a Barack Obama exhibit. And just what are those precious artifacts? Campaign mailers, election maps and a Lazy Boy chair. They were headed for the trash until curators called. The Smithsonian plans to recreate an Obama field office. It has collected so much, that some of the campaign stuff is being stored in the garage of an Obama volunteer.

McCain Hopes Seven-State Swing Pays Off

Ariz. Sheriff Finds Foes Of Immigration Campaign

Oct 25th, 2008 · Last week, Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio and a team of 30 deputies and 30 volunteer posse members stormed Mesa's City Hall in a pre-dawn raid for illegal immigrants on the city cleaning crew. Meanwhile, a Latino neighborhood has had its police force taken away because they protested Arpaio's tactics.
