Old Faithful Inn Gets a Quake-Resistant Facelift
All Things Considered, August 17, 2007 · The first national park inn, in America's first national park, is getting a much needed — but painstaking — facelift.
The majestic Old Faithful Inn is more than 100 years old and sits on one of the most active earthquake zones in the country. Beyond a seismic retrofit, the Inn's vintage wiring and plumbing is being replaced and updated.
It's specialized, intensive work, carried out miles from any construction supplies.
Kristin Espeland reports from Wyoming Public Radio.
