NPR.org, October 15, 2008 - Multi-talented musician, songwriter, playwright and actor Ed Snodderly is heard here in live performance from Bristol, Tenn./Va., where he showcases songs from his latest collection of original music, Brier Visions. Snodderly appeared on Mountain Stage back in 1990 as a member of The Brother Boys with Eugene Wolf, and he also logged time as a member of the old-time revivalist outfit Reel Time Travelers, along with Martha Scanlan.

After living in Boston and releasing his debut CD, 1977's Sidewalk Shoes, Snodderly returned to Northeastern Tennessee and co-founded the now-legendary Down Home venue in Johnson City. He was also one of the few musicians chosen to make a cameo appearance in the Coen brothers' film O, Brother, Where Art Thou? in 1999. Here, he's joined on stage by Ronnie McCoury of The Del McCoury Band for their modern-day labor song "Working in the New Mine."
